Gaofen-2 is China's first civil optical satellite with resolution better than 1 meter. Equipped with two high-resolution cameras (0.8 m panchromatic and 3.2 m multispectral), it features sub-meter resolution, high positioning accuracy and rapid maneuver capability, reaching international advanced level.
Gaofen-2 was launched on August 19, 2014, completing first imaging on August 21, 2014. As China's highest-resolution civil land satellite, it marks China's remote sensing into sub-meter "high-resolution era". Its main users include natural resources, housing, transport and forestry departments, serving other departments and regions.
